AVOID UNLOADING WHEELS

• Correct screws (length, cone/ball)
• Dry and clean threads
• Clean mooring surfaces
• Clean mating surfaces for screws
• Correct tightening torque
• Post-clearance

ALSO BEAR IN MIND THAT

• Check that the wheel is intended for the vehicle it is to be fitted to. If the wheel differs from the original vehicle wheel, compliance with the relevant legislation must be checked.
• Check that the wheels are not damaged (deformations, dents or cracks). The wheel tread shall be well cleaned and free from rust. A well-cleaned rim facilitates proper balancing.
• Wheel bolts/nuts must be tightened crosswise to a torque specified by the rim/vehicle manufacturer.
• After approximately 100-200 km of driving, the tightening should be checked and possibly retightened.
• The tightening should then be checked at least once a year and tightened if necessary.
• Fitting alloy wheels sometimes means that the vehicle’s original wheel bolts cannot be used. Therefore, always check carefully that the correct wheel bolt/nut is used, so that a satisfactory attachment is obtained. Always carry original wheel bolts/nuts in case a change to spare wheels becomes necessary.
