Comfort problem

Recently, comfort problems on passenger cars with larger rims and wider tires have increased in number, and STRO has therefore developed a small guide and mounting instructions for tires on these vehicles, which can be useful in these cases. Read more about how to avoid and fix problems like this.

Comfort problems in passenger cars

Now that cars have larger rim diameters, high performance tires, and run-flat technology tires are more common on the market, many workshops have had to spend much more time solving comfort problems, which has also resulted in more reclaimed tires, often tires that have been found to be fully fit for use.

This also places higher demands on assembly and balancing to be carried out as correctly as possible.

  • All components must be thoroughly cleaned before starting the assembly
  • Tires and rims must be carefully lubricated
  • A proper setting pressure must be used
  • Correct fixings should be used on the balancing machine
  • If a machine is used to measure “force variations”, this measurement must be made with the correct tire pressure. Usually 2-2.2 bar.

Assembly

WDK- German Rubber Manufacturers Association has produced an instruction for mounting Ultra High Performance and RunFlat tires (RFT).

By following this instruction, you can avoid many problems, and keep in mind that there is no difference between the categories listed and standard tires,

other than the fact that they are more sensitive and more difficult to assemble.

Lubricants

Using a high-quality lubricant makes fitting easier and helps the tire get into the correct position more easily. It is an additional cost compared to a multi-purpose lubricant, but it is an additional cost well worth the money. The lubricants below can be recommended. This is not to say that there are not others on the market that are equivalent.
