Replacement of tires and rims

TIRE REPLACEMENT, WHAT YOU CAN DO TODAY

Details of registered tires and rim sizes can be found in the registration certificate Part 1.

If alternative dimensions are not available, vehicle owners have the option of changing tires and rims to a different dimension under their own responsibility without the need for a registration inspection.

This replacement may take place provided that the tires

• are type-approved,
• meets the requirements for load capacity,
• meets the requirements for speed capacity and
• are of the same type.

In addition, tires and rims shall

• have free space during suspension movements,
• have free movement of the wheel arch during full maneuvering movements, taking into account the original suspension and steering of the vehicle,
• have a rolling circumference that does not lead to incorrect display of the speedometer and be covered by the original mudguard of the vehicle.

An alternative dimension must not have a significant negative impact on the original characteristics of the car.
